世界贸易组织法律文本
大多数世界贸易组织（WTO）法律文本是1986至1994年乌拉圭回合谈判的成果，于1994年4月在摩洛哥马拉喀什召开的部长级会议上签署，共有约有60份协定（Agreement）、谅解（Understanding）及决定（Decision）等文件。
自那时以来的谈判产生了额外的法律文本，例如信息技术协定、服务贸易和新成员加入议定书（Protocol）等。
发展中成员，特别是最不发达成员，在实施某些WTO规则方面具有更大的灵活性。2001年11月，WTO在多哈部长级会议上发起了新的谈判。
乌拉圭回合协定
1994年在马拉喀什签署的《最后文件》就像一张封面说明，其他一切都与此有关。其中，最重要的是《建立世界贸易组织协定》，它的作用如同“保护伞”。附件中包含关于货物、服务、知识产权、争端解决、贸易政策审议机制的协定，以及诸边协定。承诺表也构成乌拉圭回合协定的一部分。

成员承诺表
承诺表中包含WTO各成员分别做出的允许特定境外商品或服务提供商进入其市场的承诺，是WTO协定的组成部分。
货物贸易
对于一般货物，包含对于关税的约束承诺。
对于农业，包含关税、关税和配额的组合、出口补贴和某些类别的境内支持。
服务贸易
对特定行业允许多少境外服务提供商进入的约束承诺，包括列出个别国家／地区表示不适用“最惠国”非歧视原则的服务部门。
I-TIP Services是WTO和世界银行的联合倡议，它是一组相互关联的数据库，提供关于成员方在WTO《服务贸易总协定》、《区域贸易协定》（RTA）中的承诺以及适用措施和统计信息。
在数据库中可按国家／地区、领域和供应方式检索减让承诺和最惠国待遇，涵盖1995年1月至1999年12月的数据，但不包括当前谈判或2000年1月后加入WTO的国家的数据。

中国与WTO
2001年11月11日，时任中国对外贸易经济合作部部长石广生，在多哈签署了《中华人民共和国加入世界贸易组织议定书》。
2001年12月11日，《议定书》生效，中国正式成为WTO的第143个成员。
2018年，WTO对中国进行了第7次贸易政策审议。
2018年6月，中国国务院新闻办公室对外发表《中国与世界贸易组织》白皮书。白皮书全面、客观地介绍了中国切实履行加入WTO承诺的实践，阐述了中国坚定支持多边贸易体制的立场和主张，阐明了中国坚定不移推进更高水平对外开放的愿景和行动。
根据白皮书，加入WTO以来，中国为世界经济贸易发展带来了重要机遇，做出了重大贡献。这期间，中国对世界经济增长的平均贡献率接近30%，成为拉动世界经济复苏和增长的重要引擎。中国加入WTO为所有成员都带来了好处。中国目前是120多个国家和地区的主要贸易伙伴，中国的出口为各国企业和民众提供了物美价优的商品。自2009年以来，中国一直是最不发达国家的第一大出口市场，吸收了最不发达国家1/5的出口。
加入WTO后中国切实履行承诺，努力融入多边贸易体制。在货物贸易领域，中国降税承诺在2010年就已全部履行完毕，关税总水平由2001年的15.3%降至9.8%；2007年在服务贸易领域，100个服务业分部门已按承诺开放。
